500 Prayer-Focused Small Groups

Earlier this year, I felt the Holy Spirit shift my perspective about equipping the Church for worship-based prayer. I knew I wanted to publish a video course in 2024 to compliment my Enjoying Prayer book.

However, as I prayed about the purpose and focus of the course and study guide, an audacious vision started growing in my heart:

500 small groups studying and practicing prayer together.

This was an incredible idea, but I quickly realized that this was (and is) far-fetched.

I only have a few thousand people getting these emails. I don’t have the influence to mobilize hundreds of small groups.

But I also believe that there’s probably 500 of you reading this who want to see revival. 500 who understand the power of God’s presence through worship and prayer. 500 who could gather a handful of friends and begin to explore worship-based prayer together.

Now maybe you don’t see yourself as a leader. Maybe you’re thinking that someone else should do it. Maybe you’re waiting for the calvary to come and stir up prayer in your city. But I’m telling you: the calvary is not coming. You are the calvary.

If you’re passionate about seeing revival, then it’s time to rise up into your place as a prayer mobilizer. You don’t need a website or a big following or an organization. You just need a handful of friends.

Course includes thirteen video teachings from Matthew that are 15-20 minutes each. Each video is concise, powerful and biblical – with three big truths on the video’s topic. Questions and activations from the study guide correspond to each video.

The NEW Enjoying Prayer Study Guide

Each chapter of the Enjoying Prayer Study Guide corresponds to a video from the course and a chapter in the original Enjoying Prayer book. Each chapter of the study guide contains the following elements:

• Big Idea. This is a short quote from the Enjoying Prayer book summarizing the chapter.

• Three Truths. These are the three ideas, based in Scripture, that you will explore more deeply. Each truth is accompanied by Scripture to read and questions to answer. The bulk of your study time will be spent on this section.

• Quote. An inspirational quote from an outside source related to the chapter topic.

• Word Study. A deep dive into one of the Hebrew or Greek words used in a Bible verse from that chapter — providing even more illumination to the topic at hand.

• Activation. A practical activity for you to do on your own time. This helps us move from being knowers of the Word to doers of the Word.
